Macaroni Kid is a free resource for parents in the Modesto area. It is a business that informs parents about local happenings in our community that may benefit them. 1. Please share a little bit about yourself and your business.
I decided to take on Macaroni KID Modesto as publisher when my son started Kindergarten in August 2024. I wanted to create a centralized place where local parents could find events and resources in our community. Before becoming a mom, I was a Sound Engineer at various theaters around the Bay Area. My career allowed me to travel and live in different places, but now my focus is on building connections in my local community.
2. What is the story behind your business? What made you want to get started?
Macaroni KID is a free website and weekly newsletter that provides information about family-friendly events in the community. It’s a publishing platform that helps parents find things to do with their kids. As the publisher, I host local events, publish weekly newsletters, update the website with valuable content, and engage with the community on social media. I felt the need to get started because I didn’t see anything like it in our community.
3. Can you describe your ideal client (or the kind of person that might benefit from your services)?
My ideal client is anyone who offers a service to local families—whether that’s childcare, tutoring, birthday parties, events, or classes. If your business serves families in Modesto, I want to help connect you with them!
4. What are some of the most popular questions you get from those inquiring about your services, and how would you answer them?
The most common question is: “What do you offer?”
Macaroni KID Modesto offers a variety of ways for businesses and organizations to collaborate with us. We have an article on our website that details all our advertising and partnership opportunities, and we’re always happy to customize options to fit our clients’ needs.
5. How does your business contribute to the local community?
I provide local resources specifically for Modesto families, helping them find what they need. I love the idea that I might connect someone with a local business or service they didn’t know existed. I also enjoy highlighting and promoting local businesses on social media to give them extra exposure.
6. Are there any community events that you regularly participate in, in case someone wants to meet you?
I occasionally participate in vendor events, so make sure to follow us on social media and check our website to see where I’ll be next!
7. What are your goals for the future of your business?
My goal is to continue growing and providing the best resources possible for Modesto families.
8. What are some of the most recent trends that you are seeing in your industry, and how do you plan on adapting to those?
No major trends at the moment! I focus on keeping content fresh and relevant for local families.
9. What is one interesting fact about your business that readers may not know?
I run everything solo! It’s 100% a mama-powered, coffee-fueled operation. I handle social media, the weekly newsletter, and every article and guide on our website.
10. Can you share one or two of your favorite reviews that you have received from clients?
I’ve received great feedback from Modesto families! Many love the content I share and appreciate having one central place to find all the local events and resources they need.
11. What are your favorite things about operating a business in this community and space?
Seeing happy families enjoying the events and resources I share is the best part of running Macaroni KID Modesto!
